Claudio Castiglioni, born 22nd November 1946 - 17th August 2011 is a name synonymous with great motorcycles such as Moto Morini, Cagiva, Husqvarna, Ducati and MV Agusta. His last role was the President of MV Agusta and passes on leaving a legacy of great motorcycles such as the Ducati 916, MV Agusta F4 Senna edition and the superbly lustful Claudio Castiglioni MV Agusta F4 edition during his lifelong career.
His ability to merge aesthetic brilliance with superb engineering capability and also strong foresight in the motorcycle industry is the key to his career success. His career started off in the 1950's after inhering Cagiva (CAstiglioni GIovanni of VArese) by earning a reputation by financing 500GP successes with his brother Gianfranco.

After earning much reputation from the success off the wins from Cagiva, he heads off aquiring other motorcycle companies such as Ducati, Moto Morini and lastly MV Agusta which he is lastly affiliated with.
The reputation of Ducati motorcycles today as we know it is due to the effort placed by Claudio whom not only reinvigorated the company by producing beautiful motorcycles such as the Ducati Monsters, but also win Premier class races earning reputation of producing world class winning superbikes such as the Ducati 851, 916, 999 and Motogp Desmosidecis that is identical to their off the shelf road bike counterparts.

The final 15 years of his life he dedicated it in MV Agusta which he bought over with his own savings and recreating the brand, a motorcycle company started off by Count Agusta which was once a revered motorcycle brand which is synonymous with winning races and creating living legends such as Giacomo Agostini. Together with Massimo Tamburini, the MV Agusta brand of motorcycles are indefinately something to lust for. After understanding how any MV Agusta motorcycle is designed and built, I've always stood to the principle that modifications other than removal of the rear mirrors is a blasphemy and the owner is to be shot dead for destroying such a wonder work of art.
For all the enthusiast that loves and dreams of motorcycles, Claudio Castiglioni is a person whom we all wish we could be. What would be greater than owning motorcycles that we lust for than being the key person who gives birth to them. Claudio, your passion in two wheels will definately be missed dearly.

"Motorcycles make us dream. They have different colors, they have different sounds. They have shapes that sometimes show what inspired their designers. Sometimes these creations are real works of art that turn the designer into an artist." - Claudio Castiglioni
